How to Use the System Restore Point

To access System Restore and bring your PC to a previous state, please do the following:

For Windows XP:

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools.

  2. Select System Restore.

  3. Select Restore my computer to an earlier time and click Next.

  4. In the left calendar, select a bold date.

  5. In the right list, select a restore point.

  6. Click the Next button.

  7. Click Next again. This will restart your PC.

  8. After restarting, you will see a confirmation screen. Click OK to continue using your PC.



For Windows Vista and 7:

  1. Click the Windows Start button.

  2. Type system restore, then press the Enter key.

  3. In the System Restore window, click Next.

  4. Select a restore point, click Next.

  5. Click Finish.

  6. In the confirmation window, click Yes.

For Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and 11:

  1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Run.

  2. Type control panel, then press the Enter key.

  3. Click the drop-down menu button next to View by, select either Small icons or Large icons, then click Recovery.

  4. Click Open System Restore.

  5. In the System Restore window, click Next.

  6. Select a restore point, click Next.

  7. Click Finish.

  8. In the confirmation window, click Yes.
