To show filename extensions in Windows Vista and Windows 7:
- Click the Windows Start button, then select Computer.
- In the Windows Explorer window, click the Organize button, and then select Folder and search options.
- In the pop-up Folder Options window, click the View tab.
- Under Advanced settings, unmark the checkbox for Hide extensions for known file types.
- Click the Apply button, and then click the OK button.
