Last Updated 2 years ago
Audio missing after upgrading to Windows 11?
When you install or update Windows 11, the first issue you might encounter is missing audio. No sound playing from the speakers.
One of the options is that the wrong audio output device is active.
By default, audio should be playing at your speakers but t can be assigned to your headphones. You can change where to play audio by following the instructions below:
- In the notification area of the Taskbar (right-side pane), right-click the Sound button and select Sound settings.
- In the pop-up System > Sound window, under Output, select Speakers.
- The change should be immediate. So, check if the audio is working by playing an audio file, Internet audio stream, or video that contains audio.
- If things are working, close the Settings window.
